When you watch an episode of an old TV show, does it make you feel nostalgic, or just old?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Nostalgic. I remember how it felt to see the show for the first time. It's also a way to bring back memories of watching it with my dad (who has since passed away). I like remembering the good times we had together.

There was a show I was never allowed to watch (after the first time I saw it) because it gave me nightmares. So as an adult I'm able to sit down and watch the entire series on DVD with my wife. We love how campy and obvious the plots are and seeing mistakes (like microphones, bad props). Love it.

What show was that, you ask? Why Dark Shadows of course!

The two channels I really enjoy on TV are Nick at Night and TV Land. I really enjoy Rosanne and some of the older shows. I don't really feel old when I watch them, but I do remember back to the time when all the comedies were on TV. I still fill that those were the good times.

hahahaha funny question.

It depends on the show. If i can remember seeing it as a child, then it just makes me feel old. For instance, I can remember where I was living and why I used to watch it. "The Dukes of Hazard" is a perfect example. I used to watch that on Friday nights because that was the most popular show on at the time. I was very young and living in my grandparents house because we didn't have the money to live on our own (we being my mother, sister and I). I remember really liking that show and thinking it was the best thing on tv. Now of course I look at it and think - what the heck? That show is so bad it's not even funny.

However, if it's a show that is older than that, a show that pre-dates me, then I feel nostalgic.

Actually I like the really old movies that are on the Classic Movie channel so as they are all older then me I feel young.

When I was a kid, my favorite TV serial was Knight Rider. When I grew up and there was a rerun of the movie and I watched it, I just felt that the serial was actually very corny. But I also remembered how simple life was compared to the children now. Even when you're a kid now, everything is so complicated and the kids make a lot of demand to their parents. I remembered that I was happy just to watch the show even when it's the only TV show on at that time, now even with so many channels, I can get bored.

I'm quite young (19) but whenever I watch a show that I watched when I was younger, like Rugrats or Pinky and The Brain, it makes me nostalgic for being a kid. But it doesn't make me feel old.
