Most tuna "farms" collect wild-caught bluefin tuna and fatten them up for sale as premium sushi at a premium price. Most canned tuna is either albacore (white tuna) or skipjack or yellowfin (light tuna). Some light tuna may be bluefin, but these fish are wild-caught; farmed tuna are too valuable as sushi to be canned.
