There are two options for purchasing a border collie or a terrier. One type can be purchased with farmville coins. These puppies have to be fed daily for 14 days or they'll run away. If the dogs are purchased with Farm cash, they will not run away, and they come with 14 days of food that helps them grow into full sized dogs to help around the farm. The cost for a terrier is 5,000 Farm coins or $65 Farm cash.
The border collie is 300,000 farm coins. The Golden Retriever and the Sheep Dog can only be purchased with $65 farm cash.
Once the dogs are full grown, they can be used around the farm. The sheepdog will help tend the sheep. The collie is a herd animal. The golden retriever will "fetch", and the terriers are used for hunting rabbits.

You can play with your new pet, name it and even feed it. The time limit on feeding is up to 48 hours after you fed your puppy last. It work like crop withering but instead of it withering he will run away. You can feed him 23 hours and 45 minutes after your last feeding and your leeway time is up to 48 hours after you last fed him.
If you dog is missing, check your farm. Your dog runs around and can hide in many place. One tips is to try moving your person and the dog might come to you. Check on the crops and behind things. If you find it you don't want to lose it again. You can set it to stay until they change how this works.

If you meant to ask for farm dogs well I did not notice it if you had not asked this question. I guess Zynga is a dog lover that is why they only create pet dogs and not farm and stray dogs, lol. I really do not know why this is but I have the clue it’s the reason why Zynga sticks to pet dogs only. Haha, I guess Zynga would be adding them as soon as they see this question of yours. But of course, if you cannot wait too long, you can always go to your Farmville market and choose from the pet dogs listed in there. Buy the one that you like best and feed it so it won’t walk away from your Farmville.
