When was Twilight released?

Twilight was theatrically released on November 21, 2008. With it's 37$ million budget and the success of the books, I doubt there was much surprise that it was successful.

The first book of four in The Twilight Saga series, namely The Twilight Saga: Twilight, as first released in hardcover format on October 5, 2005. Author Stephenie Meyer was inspired in 2003 by a personal dream about a human girl and a vampire falling in love. Her novel was soon accepted at publishing house Little, Brown and Meyer signed a contract for a four book series. The Twilight Saga: Twilight was also adapted as a major motion picture and opened in the box office on November 21, 2008. The movie adaptation was a major hit and grossed over $392 million worldwide. There was also a same-titled graphic novel released on March 16, 2010, whose illustrations were created by a Korean artist by the name of Young Kim.
