Technically? Christopher Reeve's first performance was at age 9 (1962) in a student play, "The Yeoman of the Guard". This was the performance that sparked his acting interest.
But his first Hollywood role?
He played an officer in the 1974 tv movie, "Officer". It wouldn't be until 1978 when Reeve landed his first movie role in "Gray Lady Down" with Charlton Heston. Ironically, this is the same year he filmed Superman!
