Halo: Reach was released last September 14, 2010 exclusively for the Xbox 360. It is the sixth and latest Halo game to come out, after Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Wars, and Halo 3: ODST. Within the game's universe, Halo: Reach is set in 2552, immediately before the events of the original game. It is second in terms of chronology, with Halo Wars being set in 2531, 20 years before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved.
Halo Reach will be the last Halo game to be developed by Bungie for at least the next 10 years, since it recently signed a publishing agreement with Activision Blizzard. Bungie was the franchise's original and sole developer throughout the entire series.
