Hi @couponchic!
Dead Rising was released exclusively for the Xbox 360 last August 8, 2006. It was basically one of the early titles for the Xbox 360 that showed how powerful Microsoft’s new system was and it was also Capcom’s first game to be created using their proprietary next generation engine, the MT Framework.
I don’t think how long it took for Capcom to develop the game was ever disclosed but we can assume it started out during or after the development of their engine. Usually games take around 1-2 years to develop so a pretty good guess for Dead Rising’s development life would be somewhere around that mark.
Dead Rising was also ported to the Nintendo Wii last February 2009. It was basically the same game with some adjustments to how the missions and game timer played out. Of course, graphics took a considerable hit and the game was even running on a different engine as the MT Framework was not created to be used for the Wii (the Resident Evil 4 engine was used for the Wii version of Dead Rising).
