Question is do you really need aquarium salt? If you have fresh water fish don't use aquarium salt. Only for medicating. It is easy to overdose salt over time. Only water evaporates leaving salt behind, you put in a teaspoon too much at every water change then you have a salt crusted tank, with very stressed fish. Its not necessary. There may also be some amount of salt in your tap water as well. You wouldn't know how much unless you got a water report from the city you live in. Having a salt test kit will help you determine if there is too much salt in the tank, other than that you are dosing blindly. Its not worth the effort really.
