Thebes, a city in the old Egyptian civilization, had always worshiped Amun Re as a God but it wasn't until the founder of the 18th dynasty expelled the Hyksos that Amun re became a national God, this is so because the founder of the 18th Dyasty originally came from Thebes. This all happened at around 1550 B.C.
