The lawnmower that I bought most recently was a demo model, and it was the last one they had available for the year. I don't remember what I paid, but I got a significant discount. I paid cash and loaded it in my trunk myself. They were happy to get rid of it and I got a quality mower for less. If possible, I'd recommend visiting some of your local home improvement stores and hardware stores around September in order to see what's available.
