when in history was the earth's population 500 million?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The earth's population was 500 million in the second half of the 17th century (between 1650 and 1700). According to the source below, the world's population was 300 million in 1350 AD, 600 million in 1700 and increased rapidly to 900 million by 1800. Given that rate of increase (300 million in 100 years), it would seem reasonable that the world's population was 500 million between 1650 and 1700.
