When did the whole Anime market and production first start and by who and how has it changed since?

We know that Anime can be traced to Japan and that Japan is a leader in the production of Anime in all forms, paper, and visual media, but does one person or group stand out as the first to do Anime art and work?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

According to Wikipedia, the start of Anime began with the Japanese. It was developed when the Japanese artists were trying to copy the techniques they had seen from the West. It was in the 1980's that they began to have a following and reach popularity. The shows like Dragon Ball z and Pokémon made it a household name. The makers of anime have created the series that have a more adult theme so that more than just children will enjoy them. The story lines are more complex and the characters are more mature and dramatic than their Western counterparts. The story could be of a family that is involved with magic or the very first story lines about robot technology.

Some of the original anime creators are Shimokawa Oten and Jun'ichi Kouchi
They were both active in anime in the early 1900's.

Now they are being created in America but they have kept their original look and highly dramatic feel.
