The first of what will eventually be eight Harry Potter films, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” (“Philosopher’s Stone” in England) came out in 2001. It was directed by Chris Columbus. The second film, “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” also directed by Chris Columbus, was released in 2002. “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,” released in theaters in 2004, was directed by Alfonso Cuaron.
