Interest rates are very low right now. Extremely low, actually, especially if you're talking about the interests rates banks are paying on interest-bearing accounts like savings accounts and CDs. And mortgage interest rates are as low as around 4.5%. So interest rates are much more likely to go UP from here, not down.
