Although the story leaves something to be desired, F.E.A.R. 2 is still an excellent first-person shooter. The game also features some fairly modest system requirements, so gamers may not need to buy new video cards to play at high settings. Overall, F.E.A.R. 2 does more to accentuate the first game than it does to stand out on its own. While the sequel is enjoyable as a shooter, don't expect the same level of creepiness from before.

As a avid gamer, mainly of FPS's (first person shooters) i have to say i was anxiously waiting the release of F.E.A.R. 2, and even went to steam and downloaded the demo and played that for a few days. Recently, i bought the game and am now into the 5 chapter. All together, id give the game a 9.3; it is by far one of the most impressive FPS's i have played. One thing you notice when playing the game is the fact that you actually have a body and it moves (for you hardcore gamers you will no what i mean) you jump over objects and your character actually places a hand down and vaults over it, you throw up cover and again he grabs it ducts and throws it, you camara bounces and sways to your movement, and your have correct shadows. very small things, but all together, real gamers look for these small additions that make the game feel more real. The gun fights and blood and animations are also very well done. The texture and maping is amazing. its flawless. Of course the online play is great. Lastly, of course in the same retrospect of the original F.E.A.R it is scary and i dont recommend playing it at night unless you are very tough, lol. The only reasons i did not like the game so far, is two reasons; one, the enemies seem to move very blocky almost, they have a odd cartoony movement, and it might just be me that thinks that. The only other thing i dont like is when you shoot an enemy a yellow cross hair comes up to show that you hit them on top of your original cross hair, and i just dont like the way it looks, its a personal flaw in the game. Of course not every gamer will think that.
but if you havnt played it get steam and play the demo on your computer,
i highly recommend it, such a great game.
good luck.

fight on the front lines for glory, but fight in the shadows for victory.......

I found FEAR 2: Project Origin, to be an interesting new take on the series. The first game's solid AI is still there, and the environments are far more varied and interesting this time (hell even the offices are more interesting I felt). The new enemies they've added in help bring in more variety to the rather repetitive combat. The powered suit thing you ride in, is just a great experience whenever you get in one.

The visuals are solid as ever (and the atmosphere, it's so creepy at times), and the gameplay's still fun. The story could've made a bit more sense, but that's a minor thing.

8.5/10
