What's your idea of a man cave?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

A perfect man cave could be made in a typical suburban shed. You know, those little stand apart buildings in the back yard that are painted and shingled to look just like the house and are usually filled with riding lawn mowers and tools. Well, I've often thought I could convert one to a man cave. Ours has electric for lighting, TV, radio, heat, AC, it even is very close to the cable connect. I would have have a refrigerator and a cot that I could put out there along with a lazy boy. There are times I could live out there for weeks at a time, I'm thinking.

My idea of a man cave would definitely be something a little more permanent! That being said, I don't crave my own man cave the way many other men probably do, so my concept of what I would want isn't that well planned. Maybe a theater room with a separate pool table and bar area. I've seen some that attach to garages, so that might be interesting too.

I'm not a man but I have an idea of why my hubby might like to have for himself. I love the man cave you showed us, but I would hate to see spring come and it melt away. Especially when he's put so much work into it and with all the furnishings. I think the same could be done with one room in the house. Give it to the guy and let him go to it.. to decorate and furnish.. whatever he likes. One thing guys hate when they get married is that the woman does the decorating for the whole house and he doesn't seem to have his own place to call his own. I can really understand that.
