You know, there are tons of great rap and rock workout songs, and I've realized over time that it depends on the exercise. If I'm doing aerobic exercise where you really just want to let your mind run free, then something that I know all ther lyrics to is great. That way I kind of space out, singing along in my head with the music.

If I'm lifting weights, or something else that requires a good amount of concentration, then I get a little crazy with the heavy metal and hardcore rap.

One good song though is Kanye Wests apty titled "Workout Song".

Good luck.

I'm an 80's music kinda guy, so I have to vote for Huey Lewis and the News: A Couple Days Off. Punchy, fast paced, and I just love the subject-matter. :)

I'll make honourable mention of Shoop Shoop Diddy Wop, by Montevideo ..so incredibly 80's, but great fun, and a good dance-paced beat. If you want to go a little 70's there's Takin' it to the Streets, and Long Train Runnin', both by The Doobie Brothers. Long Train Runnin' has a good remix that makes it well suited to work-outs. I'll mention Tragedy by the Bee Gees (because that music is great for everything) :) and Two Tribes by Frankie Goes to Hollywood, which I could rock out to any day of the week.

Okay kids .. back to your modern stuff. :)

I have plenty. With "Pump it Up" by Elvis Costello and "Party at Ground Zero" by Fishbone being up there. But if you want a real good workout mix check out the Girl Talk albums out there. Great mixes to get the blood flowing.

Anyhow, I'd have to agree with easyboy...Stronger by Kanye...but anything with a beat will do for the most part! =)

Oh man this is a great question, and a difficult one because there are so many that I like. I like something high energy, usually hip-hop or hard rock..your typical 'pump up' song.

It's got to be a tie between 'Down With the Sickness' by Disturbed and 'Like Yeah' by Tech N9ne. Both have that energy to them that either gets me up and going or gives the energy boost I need when I'm starting to lag towards the end of a workout.

I mean, working out is never fun for me, but it's most tolerable when I'm blasting Boston's Peace of Mind with Cake's The Distance coming in a close second.

Both boost my cadence on the cycle and when I run.

For a motivational boost when lifting, I like stuff you hear in Rocky and Bloodsport, and to a lesser extent, the Little Giants.
