The Matterhorn, without a doubt -- not only is it a fast, exciting, and unpredictable ride (unless you go on it constantly), the scenery is great as well -- views from a substantial height, and even a yeti. And that's not to play down the mirthful ambiance created by the rather unique seating style in the coaster cars.

Second place would definitely be the teacups ride, just because it's fun to get those things rotating fast enough to make my friends lose their expensive Disneyland lunches :)

I know it's a cliche, but I've always loved It's A Small World. You're in out of the heat and floating, and there are all kinds of things to look at. When I first rode it at the age of 10 I loved thinking about all the different cultures around the world, and I still do.

+1 for It's a Small World. That's a trippy ride - the only thing to top it would be the Simpsons "Little Land of Duff" ride at Duff Gardens!

I am going to stretch this a little bit and assume by Disneyland you meant "Disneyland Resort" so I can give you my favorite ride which is "Toy Story Mania" at California Adventure. It is truly an innovative ride unlike anything you will ever ride on. The technology behind it is amazing. It was Disney's first use of Industrial Ethernet for ride control. They have 150 PCs (not Macs which is somewhat ironic since Steve Jobs is on the Pixar board and Toy Story was a Pixar movie) running the attraction (sounds like a great opportunity for an "I am a PC" commercial) It just works and it works as you would expect. The guns behave and work so smoothly. It had to be intuitive and user friendly since there really is no instructions needed. Everyone has to go on that ride. You will want to go on it more than once.

I would have to vote for Pirates of the Carribean, but my reasons are a little different. Pirates really succeeds at what Disneyland is all about. From the beginning of the ride you feel like you are leaving a SoCal amusement park behind and floating off into the bayou. I always caught myself thinking about what it would be like to live in one of the shacks at the beginning of the ride. It's even dark and humid... it just feels different than outside. And then when you finally get to the big open water by the big ship... WOW! You could swear you just went outside at night. Sure the animatronics aren't totally up to date, but they still work. You feel like you just were transported someplace else. As you go through the burning town, it's a little less lifelike, but there are still little details that are really impressive. From the hair on the drunk pirates foot, to the muddy pig and the famous dog with the keys... the story just grabs you. And then there's the burning timbers and the pirates treasure... the whole experience is there... and by the time the ride is over you really feel like you just went on a trip to someplace, somewhere sometime totally different than the rest of your day at Disneyland... and that's what Disney is all about. That's why I think it has to be the #1 ride even if it isn't the most exciting coaster... it is Disney and that's why it's made some great movies.

Big Thunder Mountain. My daughter who is almost 4 just found out she is tall enough to ride it as well. It's now known as "the fast train" around our house. I think the fact that little brother is not big enough for the ride makes it even more fun.

I love the Haunted Mansion. The wait is never long, the ride is family-friendly and it is not too physically exerting. But the attention to detail on the ride is just beautiful. It's so good at building an atmosphere and a tone, and although not super-scary, it does give some chills.

I just love it, and ride it at least twice every time I go.

My favorite ride at Disneyland is The Haunted Mansion. It's my favorite for a number of reasons, first it's a horror/scary themed ride which I love. In addition it uses a number of great special effects and optical illusions. It gets an annual holiday overlay featuring characters from my favorite movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, and it has an amazing ride soundtrack.

Absolutely, I would have to say Space Mountain. The first time I rode it (maybe 8 years old), I was so enthralled by the ride. Normally I hate roller coaster (actually just hate the climbing and click clack of the coaster). Even though, the last time I went, The Tower of Terror was enjoyable and the Aerosmith ride was awesome. One thing that you can't forget about is the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It is simply a classic and has spawned one of the greatest franchises ever.

My definite favorite ride of all time has got to be Space Mountain. I remember that I was taken on that ride as soon as I was tall enough, and I've enjoyed it ever since. I was sad when it was closed down, but I'm happy the park made some great renovations to the ride. I love that part when you first get on, and you're right on top of the first hill of the rollercoaster with the dramatic music looking at your surroundings with all of the stars, and then just when you least expect it, it goes really fast.

Plus, I've always had this nerdy little obsession with space. XP

Seriously, the best all-time ride at Disneyland is Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. It's low-tech, you just ride a car around a flat route, while cardboard things keep tumbling at you. But it's scary. Moreover, you end up before a judge, have some kind of accident, the you GO TO HELL!!! Eleventy! What other ride has the guts to send you to hell for bad driving?

I'm a big fan of big, fast roller coasters, so, suffice to say, the offerings at Disney aren't really designed to please someone like me. Note my favorite one here ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Toro_(roller_coaster) )

That being said, there will always be a soft place in my heart for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. In all honesty, I've not been to Disney Land, but I've been to Disney World a few times - and not even the park as a whole does it for me, this ride certainly does.

First of all, it's very well themed, unlike most of the rides I like. A lot of attention to detail was paid on every little feature of the mountain/mine area, even in the areas you zip through while on the ride.

Second of all, it's actually a damn fine little roller coaster. It's a far more entertaining ride than any other mine train type coaster that I've been on (Though I will note that I have not been to Dollywood to ride the Mystery Mine Train). Sure, it won't scare anyone, but the layout is good, and it is paced very well.

When I was a kid, the first couple of times I was at Disney, I'd be sure to piss my parents off while I rode this thing ten times in a row before I let us go anywhere else. It was the only thing I wanted to ride in the entire park, and ride it I did!

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, I am surprised I'm the first one to mention it. It's like Mr. Toad with laser tag. One of these days I will go by myself (I have yet to find anyone who would do this me) and ride nothing but Buzz all day.

It breaks down quite a bit, but that just means you'll rack up more points! I understand all the other rides are classics but for me it's analogous to asking "hey, do you want to listen to this cassette player, or this iPod?"

I make the friend I'm with "drive" so I can devote my attention to aiming. Needless to say I am a master at that ride/game.

When I was a wee kid, it was Dumbo the Elephant. Then, it was the Tea Cup ride. Loved spinning out those teacups.

When I was 13 and we went back to Disney world, Then it was Pirates of the Carribean. Those were the rides.

The little side-attraction in Disney world was Mickey and Minnies house.

Might sounds silly but...

My favorite thing about Disney was always the Monorail and Epcot . ((Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow .)) (Future World Spaceship Earth)
I also liked it's a small world and IndianaJones adventure ride/show and although its not really part of disney bush gardens is kinda cool too.

However (And i don't know if they still have this) the epcot ride and Future World Spaceship Earth ride is excellent it shows people how we are going to live in the next 20-2000 years, how we have lived in the past, and all in all they have been pretty accurate . :O)

And i just love the monorail because it goes threw most of the parks and i get to see everything from a kindof 'birds eye view' .

I'm also including a video of bush gardens just for the hell of it. :P
