I especially like that you included a link to the game's website - if it weren't for the inherent customization of LBP, I'd have picked this answer; since it is so highly customizable, a content download doesn't go as above and beyond as it probably could in most cases. Unfortunately, according to Steam, Gary's Mod is referred to as a game itself, and is no longer considered a "mod".

It's a bit silly to call Team Fortress 2 a mod. Though Team Fortress 1 was originally a mod, this one was always going to be a separate retail product, you don't have to own Half-Life 2 to play it, and the only commonality is the Source Engine. You may as well call almost any game a mod, given that few actually build their own engine for a new game.
Team Fortress 2 technically wouldn't qualify as a mod or as downloadable content for Half Life 2, as it can be played as a stand-alone - Half Life 2 is not required to play it. However, I do appreciate your answer!
