What's your favorite HBO Original Series?

Past or present
Tip for best answer: M$0.35
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I have been hooked on quite a few of their original productions.

The Sopranos was the first for me and will always have a place in my heart.
Edie Falco and James Gandolfini will always be the best mob couple.

I am currently watching True Blood and the Tudors and find them both to be fun and highly enjoyable. As a history buff, I always love looking at different perspectives of history, and the Tudors does that beautifully. True Blood is sexy and vampy, but I can't say it's my favorite.

My favorite show would have to be Six Feet Under.

Allen Ball (who also wrote True Blood) created a masterpiece with this show.

I don't think any other show in TV history has been able to cover the different stages of grieving and dying, nor look at all the aspects and angles that the role death plays in our society.

That along with great actors, excellent writers and different directors... and you have my favorite!

I would have to go with Fraggle Rock which aired on HBO from 1983 to 1987.

For HBO I would have to say The Sopranos. It is just so gritty, real, and addicting to watch! I always watch documentaries on TV about the mob and stuff, but The Sopranos is the best thing to be made about the mafia since The Godfather!

Of course you talk to my brother, he would say Entourage (also great) and you talk to my fiance, she would say Sex and the City (Which I admit is good too).

I just with Flight of the Conchords could match the level of comedy that their live stand-up can....

My overall favorite premium show though isn't even on HBO, it's Showtime's Dexter (Absolutely Bloody Amazing!)

For me, the best HBO series are The Sopranos and True Blood. I love watching the world of mafia and how interesting the lives of each character. I was so in love with that series that I bought the complete Soprano dvds series. As for True Blood, I’m still waiting for the final season to be completed before I buy the complete series box to save money.

I have to say that my wife managed to get me nicely addicted to True Blood. She tells me that they're significantly different from the book series they're based on (The Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries), but I'm enjoying the show immensely. It's like a more adult version of the Twilight series. Very refreshing!
