What's worth more, a husband or a wife?

Available husbands seem to be in high demand, yet wife.com sold for $100k whereas husband.com for only $25k.
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Historically, husbands have been worth more. This is the basis of the custom of the woman's family paying a dowry. In some countries recently the potential expense of a dowry has caused families to abort female fetuses, resulting in a relative imbalance of genders. That in turn has led to wife buying, which means the wife is in that case worth more.

In the modern internet world that you are inquiring about, families are no longer in the picture and individuals are seeking mates. Men are more likely to have more money and less social skills. A woman with the money to invest in looking for a husband can probably find one for free. Women, such as single women with children, are usually in the unfortunate position of lacking money, social skills, time, and a husband. They can't pay much to seek one on line.

Worth more? Hm.... Does one gender have more of an intrinsic value than another? Does that person being legally obligated to a person of a the opposite sex (marriage: the qualifier fora husband or wife) make them more or less valuable?

I could never start to answer what is really worth more, a husband or a wife. I could however try to provide some sort of insight into the husband.COM vs the wife.COM domain name values.

I posit that more men are active users of the internet seeking female companionship. I don't have a scientific data to back that up, but I seem to find more active internet users that are male in my own personal internet experience. Therefore, if there are more men online looking, it only makes sense that a site like wife.com would generate more traffic, and therefore more potential revenue than husband.com

In a monogamous world, where the large majority of marriages are heterosexual, the value should be exactly equal. The coefficient of factors that make one decide to get married on one side should add up to the same coefficient of factors on the other side, otherwise additional husbands or wives would be drawn into the system from the ranks of the unmarried.

Money cannot buy love. So, you can't really put a value on this matter.

Money may not be able to directly buy love; but, it can certainly buy a husband or wife. So one can reasonably ask which costs more as a measure of value.
