What's worse for you in terms of radiation? Using a cell phone directly or using a headset?

What remits more radiation? Holding a cell phone up to your ear or using a headset to connect to it? Also, is there a difference between using a bluetooth headset or wired headset when it comes to radiation?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

A 2005 UK study found that using a headset reduces the amount of radiation exposure by "as much as 47%". -- http://www.mobiledia.com/news/24586.html

As for Bluetooth, it seems that there is no significant amount of radiation emitted from Bluetooth devices at ALL, phone or not:

"First, though there has been a great deal of research, the evidence pointing to any health hazard from radiation in the 800 MHz to 2 GHz range at the power levels used by mobile phones is, at worst, equivocal. This suggests that if there is any risk at all, it is very small. Second, I have not seen any studies suggesting any risk from Bluetooth. This is not surprising. While a phone needs to transmit with enough power to reach a base station antenna that may be a couple of miles away, Bluetooth has a nominal range of 30 feet." -- http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/aug2006/tc20060829_289239.htm
