What's the prettiest flower on the planet?

Suppose you could only choose one type of flower from around the world, and suppose that all the other kinds would perish immediately thereafter. Would you make your decision based on beauty? Scent? Something else?

Which one do you find to be most appealing, and why?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The queen of the night bloom.. They bloom at night sometimes as rarely as every few years though mine blooms closer to every few months.

They start off like weird alien tongues (my nephews words, these are all from one blooming last spring)

The tulip; they are a beautiful, thick flower, very asthetically appealing. I grow them, and I love them.

A subjective question, but I'll answer anyway. :)

I think the rose is the most beautiful flower, because it has great volume with all those petals stacked on each other, and it can either be folded in to make an elegant gesture of love, or open to the sun. It also comes in tons of really awesome colors.

Plus hey, custom colors.

I love all kinds of lilies. It wouldn't replace all the flower in the world, of course. But it's beautiful, pristine, simple, and it's larger than other flower and makes it look stronger and less fragile. In a way I wanted to be a lilly one day by having these qualities. I always want lily to be my wedding bouquet. Not too much, just a few blooms.

I love hydrangea, they have a very wide range of flowers. I find them very fairy tale like.
It's all a matter of opinion depending on what you like, what a fun question!
