What's the one luxury you would have the least trouble giving up?

I'm not talking about material things, I'm talking about like the luxury of having clean drinking water, or central heat and air, or free public education. Mine would be giving up the luxury of having fruits and vegetables out of season at the grocery store. When I was growing up, there was no such thing as fruits and veggies coming in from South America. We had produce in season, and somehow, we lived. I hardly ever buy produce out of season anyway, and try to buy as much local produce as possible. I'm blessed to live in Florida, where we grow so much produce year around.

I actually have given up clean drinking water. The water here is awful! It's rusty and smells bad. The city is gradually putting in new water lines but until they get it finished I have to put up with dirty water.

I think one of the luxuries that we perceive to be commonplace and almost necessary here in the United States, is central air. Growing up in Germany, we never had any form of air conditioning available to us and none of the public buildings in the country have air conditioning either. While we have four seasons in Germany, the summers can get quite hot and humid, making it a true challenge for those used central air to survive in the heat. However, somehow the absence of central air was never a problem and we were never excruciatingly overheated. Another thing we don’t have too abundantly in Germany are mini blinds. Instead we have these large, heavy shutters on our windows that may be drawn and closed to keep the house cool and to shut out the sun. Once the shutters are closed, no sunlight can enter the building and the room remains dark and cool. This is a cost-effective way to keep the house cool during the summer months. Thus, I think that air conditioning is one thing that I could do without, if I had to choose.

The convenience I would give up would be fast food. I have become addicted to the convenience of having everything at a drive through location. It makes my life so much more simple and quick. I used to see it as a treat to go to one of the fast food places, then it became a trip I made way too often. I am back to home cooking and it is so much better for me and really tastes so much better.
So I would give up the convenience.
I need my central air I live in a desert. If I moved to a more temperate climate I would be willing to give up air conditioning.

Cell phones I could live without. I worked for years without them and could do it again.
