what's the most expensive camera in the world

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

not sure if it is the most expensive, but as of now, Leica's S2, which looks really nice is over $27k (http://www.amazon.com/Leica-Interchangeable-Sapphire-Platinum-Service/dp/B002NPCJ0Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1258432702&sr=1-1).. but who knows? its possible that some older models go for over 100,000 now.

Daguerreotype is the worlds most expensive camera with a auction price tag of over $130,000 (final auction price is expected to reach well over $1 million dollars).

Built around 1839 by the Paris company Susse Freres. The Daguerreotype it is a wooden sliding box camera and many experts up until recently couldn't verify its existence, besides a few documents talking about it.

As far as I can see, if you are talking about commercially available still cameras, that would be the Hasselblad h3dii-39. It runs about $30,000.
