What's the max amount of rounds a handgun magazine can hold legally in California?

Tip for best answer: M$1.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

According to CA law, It is illegal to import, sell, give, trade, or lend a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds of ammunition, except for fixed tubular magazines for lever-action rifles and .22 caliber rifles; however, the possession of such magazines is legal.

From everything I have read about the topic yes, it is legal to own a 15 round clip. The law actually reads a clip that holds more than 10 rounds is legal if you "lawfully possessed it before January 1st, 2000. If you already own a larger clip it is not illegal. Does that mean I can own a 15 round clip but I can't sell it?
