From what I have been able to determine the longest running sitcom to air on NBC was Cheers. The series Cheers aired from 1982 to 1993, and lasted eleven seasons with a total of 275 episodes. There were other sitcoms that came close to having as long a run on NBC one in particular was a spin–off Cheers called Fraiser.
Fraiser was a highly successful spin-off of Cheers that centered on the character of Dr. Fraiser Crane and also lasted for 11 seasons, but aired 264 episodes, eleven less then Cheers.
