What's the easiest cuisine to learn how to cook?

What type of food requires the fewest complex techniques in order to produce delicious meals? How can I learn how to make the best tasting food with the littlest effort?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I would say the easiest cuisine to cook is good old American: hamburgers, hot dogs, steak, etc. Typically, there are not as many ingredients and complications. Don't misunderstand. My two favorite foods are hamburgers and steak. Easy does not mean that it is not delicious. Let's use hamburgers as an example.
The simplest way to make hamburgers is to buy ground beef. Add a pinch of salt, ground pepper and garlic powder and mix it in with the ground beef. Then, make round patties with the mixture. Now, all you have to do is to either grill it outside or use George Foreman grill (inside). It only takes 5-10 minutes to cook, depending on how you eat your beef. Grill the buns as well and add lettuce, tomato, onions, etc. Then, eat! You are all done.

Stir-frying has a lot going for it. It's fast - many stir-fries can be prepared and cooked in under 15 minutes. It's healthy - short cooking times mean the ingredients retain more of their nutrients. Finally, it's easy - stir-frying is one of the simplest cooking techniques to learn.
