What's the difference between stickers and decals?

A decal is a plastic, cloth paper or ceramic substrate that has printed on it a pattern that can be moved to another surface upon contact, usually with the aid of heat or water. Sticker is a type of a label which usually is a piece of paper or plastic, sticky on one side, and usually with some pattern on the other.
Choosing which of the two is better probably depends on the type of surface that it is going to be sticked or applied, and to what external conditions it will be exposed to. Someone said that

STICKERS:
Stickers are designed for short term use .
They are generally printed using UV resistant INKS and WAX,s
A sticker is rated approx 2-5Yrs UV Outdoor lifetime before deteiorating and fading .
Comparitively stickers are more expensive than decals as they do not have the lifetime,thus you are not receiving quality lasting product.
When stickers are printed,they are also printed on a vinyl ,generally there is a clear type background or a white thin edged border around the sticker,newer printers are doing away with edging.
When applying stickers for marine usage it is recommended to use an edge sealer as well.
