The differece between a stage band and a concert band.. A stage band is like another name for a Jazz Band, the jazz band consist of a Piano, Bass, Guitar, and drums, a trumpet section, a trombone section, a saxophone section, and sometimes a vocalist. This type of group plays everything from Jazz and latin to rock and R&B. It is usually made up of people who are already in Concert Band.
Concert Band, or Wind Ensemble is the typical large band with everything but strings, These are the groups that play at the football games, the marching band and sometimes play in a pararde or two.The music they play is usually classic, but have been known to play other pieces for marching and so forth, Concert band usually the oboe, french horn, bassoon and french horns.
I was in band that had these types of bands and either one is a good choice. Maybe talk to your Band Director and he could steer you in the right direction too.
Hope this helps.
