Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Geometry is an area of mathematics related to questions of shape, size, relative position of figures, and the properties of space. Geometry basically covers all areas in measurements and concerns itself with lengths, areas, and volumes. Algebra and the whole idea of coordinates was developed by Rene Descartes and added to the field of geometry. With algebra, plane curves could now be represented in mathematical form.

Analytic geometry has two meanings; the modern and the classic sense. The modern meaning refers to geometry of analytic varieties. Classic geometry refers to the study of geometry using a system of co-ordinates and the principles of algebra and analysis. Analytic geometry, or Cartesian geometry is used to manipulate equations for planes, straight lines and squares. These are often measured in two or three dimensions of measurement.
