Apple recently announced the release of iLife ‘ 11 and it is now available for sale on the Apple Store online for $49. You can also purchase this from the Mac App Store which now comes with every Mac OS (10.6 and above).
The iLife suite has traditionally contained 5 apps, iMovie, iPhoto, GarageBand, iDVD and iWeb. However, the recent upgrade of iLife does not have upgraded versions of iWeb and iDVD. Users are expecting an update of iWeb soon but currently there are no news regarding this upgrade.
Some speculation have it that an iWeb update is in the works and that iWeb will be completely rewritten with better features and better integration with web protocols.
There have also been speculation that Apple will be completely dropping iWeb from its line of software, citing reasons such as iWeb being too simple for creating good websites as it involves customizable themes and a WYSIWYG interface.
