What's the best/easiest way to extend the desktop of my Windows Vista PC to my XP Toshiba Satellite Laptop?

The laptop is a Satellite 1805-S253 with XP Pro on it.
Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

You could use LogMeIn.com's remote control client to control your XP machine from a browser window on your Vista one.

Or by extend did you mean make it so that you could for example drag your mouse cursor from one machine's desktop to the other and back? For that you might take a look at Synergy, which lets you share mouse and keyboard between computers via a network connection.

Unless the laptop has some sort of video input (most don't) then it's not gonna happy. Sorry.
