What's the best way to update ID3 tags in a Sansa E280?

First and foremost I do not have a Sansa E280 V2, I was told it would say V2 in the lower right on the back and it does not.

I added some songs to my Sansa and they are listed in the correct album but they are in alphabetical order instead of numerical order. I downloaded Mp3Tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/) to download the ID3 tag information and saved it and reloaded it on the Sansa and it hasn't helped. I have used a bunch of other programs (sorry I can't recall which now) and nothing seems to solve the problem.

I just want to organize the songs in numerical order. Please help.

Thank you

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Sansas are one of the easiest mp3 players for songs to be arranged. if you want your songs to play chronologically ... here's what you have to do.

1. Get all the songs on that album on a folder in your computer. You cannot modify any information while the songs/album is in your mp3 player. Changes are made on your computer.

2. On the window that displays the songs in the album, set the "View" so that the title, artist, album, etc. are displayed. Note also that the track number (this symbol - '#') should be shown too.

3. The lower part of the window is your editing section. It is here that you make your modifications. Since you want chronological arrangement, look for the "#" symbol, click on it and type the sequence you want this song to be.

4. Don't forget to click the "Save" button, which is on the lower right hand side of the window. Do the same thing to the other songs, until you have all the songs in the numeric order you want them to play.

5. Lastly, delete the album which is in your mp3 player and replace it with this album you have just modified. Once done, the songs will play in the order you want.

Hope this helps you out ...
