What's the best way to make a jello shot?
As some may know my 21st birthday is creeping up on me and I am excited yet I am needing to learn a couple of things. The main thing I am needing to learn is the best way to make a jello shot. This has been demanded by all individuals traveling to my birthday destination and they are requesting I make them, so I need help! Last time I tried this, it didn’t go to well, we ended up eating the jello out of a cake pan, it was horrible. So any tips, tricks, recipes, or suggestions would be much appreciated!

The best way to make a Jell-o shot is to use 1 cup of boiling water and 1 cup of alcohol per Jell-o package.
That way you'll be sure to have a solid finish once the gelatin sets.
By they way... I did find a recipe for shots using Malibu coconut rum. They say it goes well with the Watermelon Jell-o mix.

If you follow the Jell-o directions exactly, but instead of adding 1 cup of cold water, you add 1 cup of liquor... you should have great tasting shots.
Here are some flavors I've used in the past:
-Strawberry Jell-o w/ 1 cup of regular rum = Strawberry Daiquiri shots
-Lime Jell-o w/ 1 cup of tequila = Margarita shots
-Orange Jell-o w/ 1 cup vodka = Screwdriver shots
Those are great and simple shots to make on your birthday. You can always dress them up with whip cream or with the margarita shot, I will sometimes dust the rim with salt.
I have found that the best and cheapest cups to get are those extra small paper dixie cups at the grocery store. They are usually in the paper isle. These cups can easily be ripped open so you can get the entire shot in your mouth at once, plus it's better on the environment.
If you make them the night before and pop 'em in the fridge, you'll be good to go on your birthday. Just take it easy... Jell-o shots can creep up on you!
