What's the best way to get the lid off of a hp desktop?

My grandpa is needed to get the lid off of his Hewlett Packard Vectra desktop, he wants to use an air blower to get a fly out that he saw fly in, and it has yet to come out. He is wondering what the easiest way to get this lid off is, since it doesn’t seem to want to just pop off. Does it need to be unscrewed? Does he need to take it in to a professional so he doesn’t ruin anything while taking the lid off? Anything helps!

Thanks!

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The question is why would you subject a family member to use such a thing haha!

I actually have almost that same model in a closet. I was going to give it to the kids but it was too slow to run much besides SNES emulators and such.

On the back or the side will be some weird looking screws. They can be taken off with either a phillips head or a very small ratchet (they are hexagonal on mine). If you are lucky, they'll be big ones you can unscrew with your fingers but not likely.

Take them all out and put in a bag or container (not on the carpet) and the top of the case will slide straight backwards.

Really, one fly in there won't cause many problems unless there's a bunch of food crumbs too. Then a computer full of maggots could be the result. It would look pretty cool but maggots on the cpu might not be a good option.

Wow, that's an old-school case. Aren't there screws on the sides? I would be hesitant to take off the faceplate, I have nearly broken the face off of a computer in the past. Now I have a dell which easily opens up.

What is the specific model number of this Vectra?
