What's the best place to get a used fridge near Santa Monica?

Tip for best answer: M$10.05
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Have you heard of Freecycle.org? You might be able to get a used fridge for free through them. In my life on the road, however, I have learned that it is often better to buy a new fridge - it can actually save you money.

Newer fridges are much more energy efficient, so while you might have to drop a few hundred extra in the purchase, you will get something you can use for longer and that uses a lot less electricity.

Craigs list as well as any local classified ads will be your best bet to find for "used" refrigerators. The problem with this is that you really do not know what condition they will be in, so I suggest that if you do find one, buy it from someone you know or someone who can provide you with a minimum guarantee. Looking for something cheap sometimes tends to get expensive. Good luck.

Here is one I found and was listed recently. If you are not interested you can browse for more:

I was going to recommend Craig's List as well, but I think you can find one closer to home than Santa Barbara.

I bought my first fridge at Carlson's in about 1975?? I lived at Venice Beach at the time. Since they're still there, that says very good things!!! In other words, I agree with the people who gave you these excellent suggestions.

Wow. Carlson's. That brings back memories.
