What's the best Mother's Day present that you've gotten/given?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

make something for her! you can start by making her a card.
you could get a picture of yourself and your siblings (if you have any) and get it blown up bigger, buy a frame and put it in there. doesn't have to be an expensive frame.
flowers are always good. things like tulips are quite reasonably priced at this time of year.
you can often get pre-made sets of things like bubble bath and lotion at places like walmart for around 10 dollars, or you could make a little basket up for her yourself with things in she likes.
how about writing a poem?
or making up a mix CD with songs on that she likes or that make you think of her?
another idea would be to give her 'coupons' you make up that she can use. the coupons could have things on like on one night you will be the one to cook supper, or you will babysit younger siblings, or will do laundry that week. stuff like that.

A mother's day present is never about cost and it is always about the love that you put in. You could write her a mother's day message that truly expresses your feelings for her. She is already in her 40s and may not hanker after material wants. You could write a long message on a card and place it on her bedside table so that it is the first thing she sees when she wakes up.
