What's the best LCD television under $1,000?

I'm looking to buy a new LCD TV but I don't want to spend more than $1,000. Which TVs would you recommend for this price range? High Def / HD is a big bonus, so 1080i instead of 720p. Feel free to recommend ones in stores (Costco, Best Buy) or online (New Egg, etc)
Tip for best answer: M$0.50
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I do not know if this will be best for you by this TV was and is best for me.

After about 5 weeks of shopping and research I just purchased and have been absolutely delighted with a Samsung LN40A630 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color and the Samsung 40 inch TV has received some terrific reviews on Amazon.com (4.5 out of 5) and also on the Samsung website (4.7 out of 5) and also some great reviews on Cnet.com (4.5 out of 5) but I bought this television at BestBuy for $809.00 (the website says $899.00 but in store was $809.00) and on the BestBuy website this TV is reviewed at 4.6 out of 5.

I spent a total of $948.99 with the 4 year extended warranty/service plan

So it looks like this Samsung meets most all of the specifications you suggested (1080p not 1080i) and I am extremely happy with my researched and experience based decision but there are a lot of other owners of this Samsung television that feel it is terrific as well.

The cost is variable by the feature which you want to buy. Generally the following matters must consider before buy a tv.

1. TV size.
2. Brand.
3.Color
4.Features.
5. Customer support $ service centers
6. Warranty.
7 Price.

So you provide that the cost in $1000, and you can buy a very good brand tv for that money.

I prefer this Samsung LN46C650 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV to you. Its sounds good and the cost is $900.99. buy here http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LN46C650-46-Inch-1080p-Black/dp/B0036WT3RU/ref=sr_1_5?s=STORE&ie=UTF8&qid=1285857033&sr=1-5
