A person suffering from sunstroke should be brought to the hospital immediately for treatment. If you find someone outside with sunstroke, while waiting for an ambulance you first need to get the person out of direct sunlight and into the shade immediately. If possible, remove clothing and apply cool water. If ice packs are available, these should be used and placed in the groin and armpits to aid in cooling.
