If you'd like a mix of science fiction, blood and guts, horror, and sexy reads, try Laurel K. Hamilton's "Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series". The books aren't girly at all... there are just a lot of sex scenes. There's a reason for it, but you just have to read to find out. It's a GREAT series and it's my favorite. Guilty Pleasures is the first book.
If you like non fiction, try Chuck Klosterman's "Sex Drugs and Cocopuffs". It's funny and intriguing at the same time. Chuck Klosterman is a journalist in the pop culture genre.
If you're looking for fiction that's entertaining and will make you laugh out loud, read Kinky Friedman's "Kill Two Birds and Get Stoned". It has nothing to do with marijuana.

If you are looking for inspiration for any reason, this may be the book. His previous book Still Me is also

These are both easy to read, short, wonderfully inspiring books about beating all the odds and staying positive!
