What's the best and worst gift you received this holiday season?

The best thing was three generations, myself, my kids, and grand kids, all together celebrating Christmas at my house. The worst was when they all ate and ran without helping to clean up. :(

The best thing I received this year was, well, nothing. Instead, I asked that friends and family donate money to support Heifer International, which coordinates donations and sends livestock to families in need throughout developing nations. I also championed Kiva, which is a fantastic website that allows users to send "micro-loans", or loans as little as $25, to family-owned businesses in developing territories. My wife and I didn't come home with a thing, but we felt fantastic having donated over 5 goats, a honeybee hive, a flock of chicks, and three rabbits to families that can use them for milk and meat. The animals also give birth to offspring, which families can sell to build business or send their children to school. So, it was a great year really, because I got nothing but the best gift ever, and I don't even have a "worst" column to mention :-)
