You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I'm assuming by the page you came from you are referring to Matt Diaz, 25 year old ball player from the Atlanta Braves. Matt is from Portland, Oregon .
Matt is most certainly Caucasian / cuban decent.
Diaz is a cuban decent last name. So I would imagine his father is probably of cuban decent.
Here's a great link where you can get some more information on the diaz family in the United States.

Actually Diaz is not necessarily a cuban last name most hsipanic countries all ahve roots from spain so it's hard to tell ancestry. For example Aaron Diaz has this last name but he's Mexican.
There is not such thing as a "Cuba" descendant last name. Here is a tip for future reference. Most (if not all) Spanic last names that ends with the letter Z, denotes that origin. Some few examples:
Lopez
Perez
Dominguez
Gomez
Galvez
Alvarez
Ramirez
Rodriguez
Velez
Benitez
Chavez
Cortez
Suarez
..and off course...
Diaz
