What's Feng Shui got to do with geometry?

We were talking about Feng Shui the other day, mainly about how to remove clutter from our homes and applying some useful interior design to our homes. My friends seem to know more about it. Where can I find out more about Feng Shui? Are there any books or videos?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese system of aesthetics that is believed to use the laws of Heaven and Earth to help improve one’s life andb by harnessing certain qi (energy) in a positive way. A Feng Shui compass, Luopan is typically used to measure the qi in a room, and then to give the user advice on where to place certain furniture, or how to build your buildings.

Feng Shui is related to geometry in the sense that very often, the user will be asked to put their furniture items, or include in their buildings some form of architectural feature or design feature. These features have to be very accurate and are often measure in degrees – because the compass’ measurements are in this form. For example, Hong Kong Disneyland was asked to move its main gate by 12 degrees in their building plans. Certain buildings are also asked to include in their design plans, geometrical structures to retain positive qi.
