If you take the road to Lahaina you come to Maalaea which has a small port. Right next to the water is Buzz's Wharf. Right by the ocean, great views, but pricey nowadays. Directly across the street there may be a restaurant called Maalaea Grill. If they are still there, they had great food and better prices than Buzz's.
If you go to Kahului, eat at Bangkok restaurant on Dairy road across from Savers, or Ichiban which is right next to Central Pacific Bank. Both are hole in the wall places with great food.
Wailuku has a good Vietnamese place. I think that it is called Saigon. Take the road from Kihei toward Lahaina, but turn right at the junction. Drive into Wailuku, and turn right on Main Street, then left on Central, then the next right. A few blocks down, Saigon will be on your right.
