Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I think that this was written by the crew/colonists themselves, either when they experienced extreme phycotic stress and Dementia after being exposed to the marker, or through their own will.

In fact, in Dead Space 2, Isaac himself is suffering from Dementia and seeing symbols. I think it is most likely messages written by insane crew/colonists, matching the original writing that is found on the Red Marker.

They could also be written by perfectly sane but equally very scared unitologists whilst trying to escape or awaiting to be transformed by the Infectors, but the source is the same, the writing comes from the marker. After all they believe the marker to be divine, so repeating text from it is like repeat phrases from the Bible or Koran.

According to data logs, these are most likely DNA patterns for the Necromorphs. Interestingly, this is a reverse engineering project of the original marker, the Black Marker. This Red Marker, the one in the game, inhibits the narcotic flesh mutations that cause the transformation into Necromorphs because it produces a 'dead space' field around it, stopping spread.

To answer your question, it is either visions of the writing on the marker by insane crew members, or writings from the marker written by devout unitologists. Either way, it is DNA patterns for the Necromorphs. What isn't known, is whether the crew knew that or not.

Sorry, but that doesn't answer the question! NBA. It was asking what the writing on the wall means.

Hi. A quick Google search came up with this from Mercury News (http://blogs.mercurynews.com/aei/2008/10/15/read-dead-space-writing-on-the-wall/):

While your busy blowing away necromorphs in Dead Space, you may have noticed that funny writing on the wall. It’s not some strange gobbleygook. It’s most likely the necromorph’s language.

Keeping with the immersiveness of the game, the good folks over at EA Redwood Shores have written alien language all over the blood-splattered walls of the USS Ishimura. It seems as if these creatures are writing messages to each other. I’m sure they’re not saying things like: “Ugmo One (hearts) Ugmo Two” or “Undead Flesh Tentacle was here.”

There’s probably something more interesting to learn from this conlang. Now, if only you could decipher them. I’m wondering where this alien Rosetta stone would be … ah, it’s in on the screenshot above. Now, hop to it and decipher those words and please drop us a line and tell us what they’re saying.
