What's a great New Years drink (aside from the requisite champagne)?

I'm going to a New Years party, and I was thinking that I should come up with a New Years drink to share with my friends. Anyone have any suggestions?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Why not combine that bubbly with some OJ by serving mimosas? A mimosa consists of three parts champagne to two parts orange juice. It's a delicious cocktail and won't get people hammered too quickly.

Mahalo has a page on how to make a mimosa: http://www.mahalo.com/How_to_Make_a_Mimosa

You can make bellini. There's sparkling wine and any fruit puree which balances out the holidays binging on food and alcohol.

I believe the best drink is clean bottled water. It's safe to drink, there is no alcohol, and it will make you feel good. You don't have to worry about getting drunk or sick, and your friends will surely like you for it. Add a little flavor to the water, perhaps with a lemon, and you will be amazed that water really is a great drink any day, even on New Years. If you like sparkling water, you might be interested in giving that a try, or there are plenty of flavored waters available now. I think you will be surprised how great a nice cold glass of water can be. You might even like a glass of Vitamin Water!

While I appreciate the thought, the category I did place this under was the Beer, Wine, and Liquor category. You might wish to make sure the category of your answer fits the context of your answer. :-)

If I wasn't so adversed to Jaeger and anything that tastes of licorice, I might agree. :-)
