There are countless cocktails. But, since it appears you are starting with Bourbon and coke and have gotten bored, let's start there. An old standby that remains popular is rum and coke. With a slice of lime it is know as a Cuba Libre and you will find it a nice change from your usual. In the other direction, another whiskey drink is the Irish Coffee. Just make black coffee and add whiskey to taste. You can do the same with iced coffee for a cool version, and even add ice cream for a fun desert. If you want to change both your alcohol and your fizz, try a gin and tonic, one of my favorites

If you want to take a leap forward in cocktails I suggest a Martini. Make a classic Martini, I use gin, but you can also use Vodka

4oz of Gin or Vodka (Don't skimp on the brand get something good, and experiment with what you like)
A Small Dash of Dry Vermouth. Don't discount the vermouth, it adds flavor to this drink.
A Lemon Twist (For a proper lemon twist peel the rind of a lemon slice into a thin strip)

To make take a glass (a Pint glass works great) fill with ice pour Gin/Vodka and Vermouth in glass. Stir with a spoon (DO NOT SHAKE) for about 20 seconds or 20 revolutions. Strain your drink into a Martini glass (frosted is preferred) and twist your twist over the drink and rub the yellow side on the rim of the glass, drop twist in drink, ENJOY.

If you prefer Whiskey, try a Manhattan.

3 1/2oz of your favorite Whiskey
1/2 oz of Sweet Vermouth
Couple of Dashes of Angostura Bitters

Same as the Martini, except instead of a twist, simply drop a cherry into the drink. There are some people that will shake a Manhattan, I still prefer the stirring method.

I know you said you're getting bored with coke, but does ginger ale count? For a simple drink, I like mixing flavored vodka with ginger ale. It's really good.

Coke seems to be the easy wat out when mixing liquor with soda. Try using a ginger beer with rum, grind up fresk lime, add table sugar, then grind the two up. Add them into a glass of crushed ice with a Brazilian Cachaca(rum) and you have a nice cool and tasteful drink known as a Caipirinha.
