Whats a good college to get a degree for a sports agent?

Tip for best answer: M$0.10
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It's true that a large part of being a sports agent is contract negotiation, but before you go to law school, you'll need an undergrad degree. Consider a degree that would help you learn more about the world of collegiate / professional athletics like: communications / journalism or sports medicine. If you play your cards right and plan ahead you could have access to many athletes on campus by working on your school paper or trying for an internship as a trainer on one of the teams. If you're interested in pursuing the law degree, then make sure you get hooked up with a pre-law club.

Which brings me to your real question - a good college would be one that has an active sports program (doesn't have to be a BIG name) and a communications program or sports med. Depending on what state you're in, look for a public college that fits these criteria because they're usually cheaper.

For a good sports management undergrad, Saint Leo University in Florida might be a good choice. Their program is accredited and there are a lot of sports intensive schools out in Florida.

Go to law school. A majority of what sports agents do is contracts and negotiation.
