He died back in August of 2003. He died from died of pneumonia and was also suffering the effects of Alzheimer's disease at Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His health had been poor since he had replacement hip surgery back in August of 1998. He's buried in Brownsville, Vermont, near his home of thirty years in West Windsor.
